Global Sustainability Organisation CDP Recognizes ASR Group’s Proactive Approach to Environmental Management
ASR Group is proud to announce the CDP, formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, has recognised the progress of our sustainability efforts and awarded us a ‘B’ grade for both climate and water performance. This acknowledgment serves as another validation of our ongoing efforts to manage environmental resources responsibly.
The CDP is a global non-profit organisation that runs the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system for companies, capital markets, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. Participation is voluntary.
Our CDP score is the third recent validation by global organisations of our sustainability efforts. Recently, our targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and we also received a gold medal from EcoVadis.
“We are incredibly proud of our improved CDP score, which showcases our commitment to sustainability,” said Mukesh Jha, Chief Sustainability Officer. “This achievement is a true team effort, from programming and execution to reporting. It highlights our progress and provides an opportunity to share our sustainability journey. We remain dedicated to transparency and continuous improvement as we work toward a more sustainable future.”
Earning a ‘B’ grade in the CDP assessment indicates a company is actively managing its environmental impacts and is implementing meaningful measures to address them. Specifically, a ‘B’ grade means that a company is:
1. Aware of its environmental impacts. The company understands the significance of its environmental footprint and the associated risks and opportunities.
2. Taking action. The company is implementing measures to manage and reduce its environmental impacts. This includes setting and working towards specific targets, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
3. Refining its strategy. The company is continuously improving its environmental strategy and aligning it with the best practices and initiatives, such as the SBTi and alignment with recognized disclosure frameworks like the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
Our performance was particularly strong in several key areas. On climate, we excelled in categories such as context, public policy engagement, industry collaboration, pricing environmental externalities and governance. Additionally, we performed well in water-related areas, including public policy engagement and strategic collaboration, as well as dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities analysis. These results highlight the strength of our approach to addressing environmental challenges across the board.
This recognition is a positive milestone, and we remain focused on achieving even higher standards of environmental leadership. We are analysing our CDP assessment to identify areas for improvement in 2025.
By utilising continuous improvement and program development tools such as EcoVadis’ annual program evaluation audit, SBTi’s objectives validation programme, and the GreenCircle Certified Facts Label & third-party validation, we aim to continue to strengthen our performance in future CDP evaluations.
