Tate & Lyle Sugars receive NASSA Inspirational Partner Award

Tate & Lyle Sugars was delighted to be recognised as a long-standing supporter of Newham All Star Sports Academy (NASSA) receiving a NASSA Inspirational Partner Award at the NASSA Recognition Awards 2024.

Hosted by the Novotel London ExCeL, the event was attended by 50 guests and featured cultural performances as NASSA celebrated its own heroes and thanked them for their wonderful contributions to the charity.

Stephen Timms MP

The award was presented by NASSA Patron, Rt Hon Sir Stephen Timms, MP for East Ham to Claire Crill, Head of Corporate Affairs, Tate & Lyle Sugars.

NASSA Founder and Chief Executive Natasha Hart MBE said:

“Words are not enough to recognise the contributions that all of the winners have made to NASSA over the past year.

“The young people, parents, volunteers and the NASSA coaches all play such a vital role in NASSA’s success. Without its wonderful people, NASSA simply wouldn’t exist and we wouldn’t be able to support hundreds of local disadvantaged young people every year through our mentoring programmes.

“Our long-term partners are just as valued by NASSA. It is not just the funding they commit to NASSA every year, but their passion and dedication to the communities they serve.” Natasha Hart, NASSA Founder & CEO

NASSA, a charity partner of Tate & Lyle Sugars for over 15 years, engages disadvantaged young people across east London to play basketball in a fun and safe environment. Sessions include mentoring talks, educating young people on the dangers of knife crime and gang culture, and the opportunity to gain basketball coaching, officiating, and first aid qualifications. As well as financial support and volunteers, we also provide NASSA with office space free of charge at our Thames Refinery.
