To play our part in limiting global warming to 1.5°C or below, we must reach net zero global emissions by 2050 at the latest.
We believe we are in a strong position to be carbon neutral in London by 2040 in our scope 1 & 2 emissions and are committed to building capacity and supporting our suppliers to eliminate scope 3 emissions by 2050. Further, to meet our SBTi commitment, we will continue to target our 2030 carbon emission 50% reduction goal, against our 2012 baseline.
Our ambitions
We will be carbon neutral in the UK by 2040 (in scope 1 & 2 emissions) and net zero across our scope 3 value chain by 2050.
In the short to mid-term, we will do this through a combination of operational efficiency projects, changing our energy mix through an increasing use of renewable fuels and transitioning our vehicle fleet to alternative energy sources.
We will implement emissions reduction, sequestration, or reuse technologies and are keeping a keen eye on developing innovations. We are also actively benchmarking our performance against other manufacturers in our sector and leverage best practice and programme successes across our parent company, ASR Group.
In the mid to long-term we will reach net zero by switching entirely to renewable and non-emitting fuels using technology which is not yet available at scale.
